Privacy
Nameless Verse is built to know as little about you as possible. This page lists everything it keeps, why, and who else handles it.

When you send a poem
We keep the title, the poem, the pen name if you chose one, when it was sent, and whether it was posted. If you answered the weekly prompt, we keep which prompt. We don't keep your name, email address, or IP address with a poem.
If you're signed in, the poem is privately linked to your account so it shows in My poems and you can delete it. Readers and mods can't see that link.
If you make an account
Accounts are optional. We keep your email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. Your actual password is never visible to us. Your email is used only to sign you in and to send sign-up and password-reset emails. We don't send newsletters.
Write-backs work like poems: we keep the words, the pen name if any, and a private link to your account.
Loves and reports
Your browser makes a random code and keeps it on your device. When you love or report a poem, the database stores only a one-way scrambled mix of that code and the poem. It can't be traced back to you or connected to anything else you've done. A report also keeps the reason you picked and any note you wrote.
On your device
The site stores a few things in your browser: the random code above, which poems you've loved or reported, when you last sent a poem (to slow down spam), and your sign-in if you have an account. There are no ads, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
Services that help run the site
- Supabase stores the database and runs accounts, on servers in the US.
- Netlify hosts the website. Like any web host, it receives your IP address to deliver pages and may keep it briefly in server logs.
- Cloudflare Turnstile is the spam check. It looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots.
- Resend sends sign-up and password emails, so it receives your email address.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads the title and words of each new poem to help moderate it. Nothing about who wrote it is sent.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the site's fonts and one code library. Like any web request, they receive your IP address.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep things
Poems and write-backs stay until you delete them in My poems or a mod removes them. Accounts stay until you ask us to delete yours. Email mchimoff@namelessverse.com from the account's address. If you also want your poems removed, delete them in My poems first, or say so in the email. Otherwise they stay up, unlinked from any account.
Age
You must be 13 or older to use Nameless Verse. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll delete it.
